Happy Saturday, my dear friends! What are YOU up to this last weekend before Christmas? To say it’s crunch time is most definitely an understatement, isn’t it? Well, to be perfectly honest, it will be an absolute Christmas miracle if I am able to get everything done! Time just seems to get away from us – I’m sure there have to be a few of you who would agree with me on this, right? (Fingers crossed!!)
With all of the last week hustle and bustle of holiday preparations, let’s do a quick review of the things we shared this week in case you missed anything. Maybe we’ll have an idea or two to help you with something this weekend! (Hint – check out the cake for a fast, delicious holiday dessert!)
Want to add some fresh, last-minute greenery for the holiday? See how to make a boxwood wreath for less, using an artificial wreath base.
The Best Ever Cream Pound cake was definitely a hit at my office holiday party! It’s an easy, can’t fail cake that would be perfect for your holiday celebration. Get the recipe and how-to here.
We shared some cute, vintage tin Christmas signs that I use as a border in my kitchen – you could save the images and print them for tags!
Need a sweet, chocolate covered popcorn snack on hand for the family or a last minute gift? (Or a treat just for YOU?) Our Chocolate Covered “Merry Mix” is perfect – if you have house guests this weekend, maybe this is a fun thing to do as a group!
I joined other bloggers in a tribute to Sandy Hook Elementary with an Open Weave Tinsel Bell. An easy craft project with beautiful results – make one with your children this weekend and read about my inspiration for this bell here.
So…making bets on if I will actually get to share any of my holiday decorations with you BEFORE Christmas arrives is totally okay! <smiles> Let’s just say I’ll be able to share some on Christmas Eve – it’s an appropriate day to do that, right?!?
Before I dash off to be swallowed up by the shopping crowds, lose my car in the mall parking lot and discover I left my list at home, here’s a peak at our monster Christmas tree. Yes, despite my own great advice on avoiding Treetastrophe, because we waited just a tiny bit too long to get our tree, the only ones left at our fave nursery were really little or monster sized. So guess which, of course, I got? If you ever need to resize, reshape or refashion an 11+ foot tree to fit in a room with a 9 foot ceiling, I’m your girl! Actually, my husband did a pretty amazing pruning job so it looked less like a flat top after I had hacked away at it! Our poor angel couldn’t even go on top, so we carved out a nice, little niche for her nestle into. It was all too funny, really! I have a ton of ornaments but not enough for this monster! Here’s from my vantage point on the floor – a photo of the whole thing with lights on Monday! (You can see the rope tying it to our curtain rod support in the photo, so at least we follow SOME of our own tips! ;))
Hope your weekend is filled with lovely merriment and holiday joy! Thank you so much for stopping by today!
