DIY Show Your Team Pride Necklace

A photo of my Raven's necklace

Necklace with ribbonThere’s no doubt about it, football fans are passionate about their teams! Whether it’s an NFL team, college or both, most fans love to wear their team’s logo – shirts, hats, jackets, you name it!. Purple is everywhere throughout Baltimore and the surrounding communities right now and I’m sure San Fran is decked with scarlet red!

Here’s a quick necklace you can put together to show your team pride! I wanted to make a little favor for the girls for Super Bowl Sunday. Quite a while ago, I picked up an NFL Licensed pack of scrapbook paper and stickers from Joann’s to use for a scrapbook – it was perfect for this little project! With Memory Glass and Frames, this is super easy to make! My Show Your Team Pride necklace is for MY team, the Ravens. YOU can make one for your team!

Here’s what I used:

  • Two pieces of Ranger Inkssentials Memory Glass from Ranger, 1” x 3” rectangle
  • One Ranger Inkssentials Memory Frame in Antique Copper Rectangle 1”X3”
  • Piece of NLF licensed Ravens scrapbook paper and stickers
  • Small heart punch and small piece of metallic gold paper
  • 4 tiny rhinestones
  • Purple ribbon, 2 jump rings and necklace closure
  • Glue – Gem-Tac and E6000 Clear Industrial Adhesive

Memory Glass

Ravens Scrapbook paper and stickers

Here’s how I put it together:

Using one piece of glass, I cut a small piece of logo scrapbook paper to fit between the two pieces of glass. I was able to get three Ravens logos. I cut a small Go Ravens from a sticker and placed it on the paper between the two top logos. I used a little dot of Black Stickles in each corner of the sticker.

Measuring paper to glass

I punched a small gold heart and pasted it on the paper between the 2nd and 3rd logo. I wanted to put rhinestones on the paper, but you need to keep really flat for the two pieces of glass to fit the frame.

Frame, paper and glass

“Sandwich” the piece of scrapbook paper between two pieces of Memory Glass. Make sure the ring is at the top for your ribbon or chain! Place the two pieces of glass into the rectangular Memory Frame. It should stay closed by burnishing the little tab on the side of the frame, but since this is going to worn, I decided to put a little E6000 adhesive on the tab to secure it closed.

I added 4 tiny rhinestones to each corner of the Memory Frame for a little bling! I took a 1/8” piece of purple ribbon, doubled it and put it through the ring. You could also use chain if you prefer. Make it the length you want. I simply “tied” two jump rings to the ends of the ribbon on both sides and added a necklace closure.

Done! Easy as can be.

I’m looking forward to wearing this with my Ravens jersey and I think the girls will like them! How do you like to show off YOUR team?
