Are you a scrapbooker? Over the 10+ years I have been scrapbooking seriously, I’ve found most people fall into one of two camps on the topic. They are totally passionate about it (like me!) or…they love scrapbooks, but think that scrapbooking is just too hard, takes too much time, takes too many supplies, etc., etc. etc. Well, scrapbooking does take a little time and you do need SOME supplies, though not nearly as many as you may think! Instead of pushing you into the deep end of the scrapbooking pool, what if I could tempt you to gently dip your toes into the shallow end? Let’s do it! This week, we’re going to test the scrapbook waters and share all about scrapbooking in a “word.” I am SO excited for this and hope by the end of the week, you will be, too!
I don’t exactly remember when I first saw the My Word albums by Bo Bunny, but it was truly love at first sight! Word albums are chipboard albums, made up of individual letter “pages” that spell out a word. I bought one immediately, had an absolute blast making it and have been rolling out Word albums ever since! The My Word albums have become a little harder to find and some have been discontinued. Fortunately, I found a wonderful place online, Heart of Texas Studio, which carries tons of wonderful, chipboard Word albums in just about every word you can imagine. If they don’t have the word you want, you can even order a custom word album. How awesome is that?

This HOPE album from Heart of Texas Studio will make a perfect journal for someone facing a challenging time. I plan to make this for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Word albums are a fantastic, first scrapbook to try! You will have a unique, made-by-you, conversation piece to display in your own home. Plus, they make the most amazing, incredible gift – for anyone! I know what I’m talking about here! I have given these to so many people and have made them for other people to give as gifts. I’ve given them to women, to men, to teens, for any and every occasion – birthdays, graduations, bridal and baby showers, weddings, a new home, you name it! Everyone, and mean EVERYONE, men included, has loved them! Let’s see…conservatively, I’ve probably made over 150 Word albums over the past couple of years. I always keep a stash made and a whole pile ready to transform whenever I need them. Here’s a picture of one of my “finished” stashes of Word albums!
A lot of my younger friends and family members have or are having babies, which is so exciting! Everyone I know right now has had or is having a boy! I need to make a few more “boy” themed books, so I thought this was the perfect time to share with YOU how you can make these wonderful gifts! Anyone you give a Word album to will be amazed, cherish it and think you are simply the bomb! Make at least one for yourself, though! With all of the scrapbooking I do, I 99% of the time I’m making one for someone else. It is simply the best feeling in the world to make someone happy when they open one!
You can either make these albums with photos, or just embellish them and leave space for the recipient to put in their own photos. I usually just embellish them without photos for gifts, and that’s what we’ll focus on this week. Word albums are not a project that can be completed in one night, but by breaking it down into small steps, you’ll see how easy and fun they are to make! This week, we’ll go step-by-step through the process, I’ll share a few of my favorite craft supplies and you’ll be creating your own works of scrapbooking Word art faster than you can say Baby! Love! Wedding! Party! It’s all about the WORD!
Next up, Part 2, selecting your paper palette, tracing, and cutting your letters. It’s going to be fun, I promise! At the end of the week, I’ll share a little gallery of some of my current Word albums.
It may be Monday, but your visit definitely brightened my day! Thank you so much!

I have never made a scrap book page in my life! But yours looks awesome!
Thanks, Danni! You need to try one of these, you are so creative, yours would look wonderful and it’s so much fun!
