Let’s be honest – sometimes, having to “do” your face can seem like, well, such a chore! We’re all beyond busy and looking good fast is important. While I personally love days when I don’t have to sit down in front of the make-up mirror, that little luxury doesn’t happen nearly as often as probably any of us would like. I’ve fallen in love with Laura Geller’s Balance-n-Brighten and it’s the star of today’s What’s in my Beauty Bag.
I’m kind of a foundation hopper – always jumping around trying to find something that looks good, looks natural, and doesn’t feel like I’m carrying the weight of the world on my face. But, and a big but, it has to cover…stuff…and make our skin look pretty. In my never-ending quest to find the “perfect” foundation, I stumbled across Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation and I think I found a keeper!
This product is different and unique. It starts as a liquid, which is “baked” into a powder. It’s applied with a brush and goes on easily and super-fast! You can use it all on its own or use a little liquid foundation under or over it – and a lot less liquid foundation, too.
See all of those little swirls of color? It really balances out the complexion and adds the right amount of brightness, truly a blessing after not enough sleep on an early morning! The texture is extremely silky, smooth and it really lasts through a long day. Another huge plus! The foundation is mineral oil and paraben free, and according to Laura Geller’s website, it’s “loaded with the age-fighting, anti-oxidant protection of Centella Asiatica and White Tea.” I checked out Centella Asiatica, because what the heck is THAT? Turns out it is a small, herbaceous annual plant and ancient herb that is used for a many different things. It is said to increase hemoglobin and have a positive effect on strengthening the skin, among many other things. That sounds like a pretty positive benefit from a foundation!
The foundation comes in Medium, Fair, Tan and Porcelain, all with the right blended colors, so there’s a color for every skin tone. I use the Medium. As we go into the warmer, hotter, sticker, not-so-great-for make-up days of summer, a silky liquid to powder foundation sounds so much nicer, doesn’t it!
Balance-n-Brighten is available at Ulta, QVC or visit Laura Geller’s website here.
