While we certainly don’t need a holiday to let the red, white and blue shine, it’s special and meaningful to honor all who have served our country, and in some small way, show our appreciation to the countless men and women who continue to protect all that we hold dear. We can get a fast and easy Memorial Day tribute on our door in record time by being a wreath quick change artist!
Remember this heart grapevine wreath I made at Valentine’s Day with the red paper twist flowers? It’s perfect to do a “quick change” for Memorial Day. I made a big, puffy bow combining a wired, navy ribbon with white stars and red ribbon. I decided to add a paper flag pin I made right after 9/11, which reads “In Memory.” Totally right for this holiday, too, don’t you think?
If you take any wreath you already have, you can tweak it a bit, add a little red, white and blue and just that fast, you are a wreath quick change artist and all set to honor – and celebrate – the Memorial Day holiday. Plus, we’re already a step ahead and ready to re-stage our front door for July 4th!
I’m working on a fun wreath for the rest of the lazy, hazy days of summer that is nostalgic and reminiscent of my childhood, summer days. Father’s Day, graduations, anniversary….lots of ideas on the way, so stay tuned!
I definitely got more than a little discombobulated this week with the giveaway and know we totally missed our What’s in My Beauty Bag Wednesday. We’ll be back on track next week! I may peak in on Facebook a little bit on Friday and Saturday, though I promised Mr. Smarty Pants I would step away from the computer so we can do something fun! I’ll be back on Sunday with a simple recipe that’s a fun twist on an old favorite.
Have a great Thursday and a fantastic weekend!
