Happy Friday! I have to confess – I’ve always been someone who loves sparkle and shine. Recently, I was contacted by the kind people at Maruti Beads. A quick peak at their website and yes, I was intrigued. Maruti Beads provided me with a complimentary pack of one of their bead mixes to review, however, my opinion is all mine. If you’re not familiar with Maruti Beads, I wasn’t either! Now that I have been personally introduced, what do I think?
WOW! Being a half-glass full kind of lady, I do tend to naturally lean toward superlatives when I’m seriously excited about something. Maruti Beads are, in a word, stunning! These handmade beads, available to us at wholesale prices, are gorgeous little works of art. Available in designs from traditional to contemporary, a variety of colors, shapes and sizes, anyone would be hard-pressed not to find a bead to match their own signature style! All of the beads are actually custom made when they’re ordered.
I’m just a tad bit detail oriented, so when I received the beads, I was first impressed with how carefully they were packaged. Each different kind of bead was individually packaged with cushioning, clearly marked and all of the packs were nestled snugly in a plastic case. I opened the case and well, there was a glorious array of color and shimmer just enough to make one sparkle lovin’ lady’s heart beat just a tiny bit faster!
You know that old adage about a picture being worth a thousand words? This is one of those times when a picture just really and truly does not do justice to the beauty of these beads. I feel as though you can not only see the artistry and craftsmanship, you can feel it when you hold one in your hand. A few friends, not to mention my chip-of-the-sparkle block daughter, were also raving about how gorgeous these beads are and each trying to lay claim to their favorites. People, back away from the beads! (Of course, they are going to get something made with the ones they love!)
Each of the three types of beads I have are different and beautiful. The Kashmiri beads are made from a mix of marble powder and manufactured resin. Also known as “Bollywood” beads, these beads are hand decorated with lovely embellishments like mirror chips, seed beads, silver plating and rhinestones. Maruti beads blend the beautiful Kashmiri beads with silver plated side caps.
Very interesting and different are the Lac Beads! These beads are made from a mixture of Lac and marble powder, decorated with silver plating, seed beads, rhinestones, and other embellishments.
You can learn much more about these and the other beads available from Maruti at their website here. I would HIGHLY recommend joining them with a like on Facebook and follow Maruti on Twitter, too, because we don’t want to miss out on any of the specials and promotions they share!
So I’ve been thinking….it goes without saying that Maruti beads will make beautiful bracelets, necklaces and other jewelry, but how about all of the other things we can make with these beauties? Off the top of my head:
- Make a barrette or headband.
- How stunning would a few beads be on a bobby pin for a glam look?
- String some on ribbon for a curtain tieback!
- Dangle beads from the bottom of a lampshade.
- Decorate a mini Christmas tree –that would be show stopping!! Or make jeweled ornaments!
- Edge a glass serving platter with beads.
The possibilities are endless! I have an idea (or more!) of my own which I need to work on – be on the lookout for a project with Maruti beads! What ideas do you have for using these lovely beads? Share!
Thanks for visiting today and have a wonderful weekend!
