Candy Coated Winter Oreos

Candy Coated Winter Oreos - snowmen faces and snowflakes will add cute and tasty holiday charm to any cookie tray! At littlemisscelebration.comWhen Oreos go dashing through the snow on their way into a little melted CandiQuik, what do you get? Some pretty cute holiday treats! You know how much I love to mix candy making with Oreos. Our holiday version of Candy Coated Winter Oreos gives us cute snowmen faces and snowflakes. These cookies are perfect for the season and hey, it’s an Oreo! We can never go wrong with chocolate, cream and cute, right?

I got this Wilton cookie candy mold at Michael’s. Shh…..let’s not tell you-know-who I bought another mold! Especially after we just packed about 500 into plastic bins. But who’s counting?

For my new friends, I give lots of detail on making molded, candy coated Oreos on my Valentine Oreos and Halloween Oreos. My crazy set-up of melting all the candy is the same – my trusty electric frying pan set on low keeps all the candy nice and melted during the process.

Since I wanted the snowflakes and snowman faces to pop, I used chocolate CandiQuik for the background – and really, is anyone going to protest a little extra chocolate? I don’t think so! Plus, it’s the holidays, we need more chocolate!  :)

The snowman features and snowflakes get “painted” in first. I mixed melted red with white to get my pink and painted on some candy cheeks – I just had to give the snowmen rosy cheeks! The white candy was added for the faces and once all the candy was set, the molds were filled about two-thirds with chocolate CandiQuik and the Oreos were gently pressed in. Pop the mold in the fridge until frosty, unmold and it’s a winter party on a plate!

I’m on a serious snowman splurge this year! See the wooden snowmen in the photo? The ones that are pretty darn happy THEY aren’t on the plate? I painted these guys up over the weekend and I think they turned out fairly adorable. What do you think?
