Father’s Day is less than two weeks away – and that is plenty of time to make this super Quick & Easy DIY World’s Greatest Dad Shadowbox! Whether on his desk at work or in a special spot at home, what Dad wouldn’t secretly love a daily reminder that you – or the kids – think he’s just the best Dad in the whole wide world? With some scrapbook paper and ready-made embellishments, this project goes together in a flash and even the kids can help.
Everything for this project either came from Michael’s or my craft stash. It all starts with the Tim Holtz small shadowbox tray.
I thought that this 3-D sticker set from Paper House was perfect!
Cut scrapbook paper to fit inside the shadowbox openings. I used a faux leather paper in dark brown and blue, and small patterned pieces with a little bit of color. The paper was adhered to the tray with Mod Podge.
Place the stickers in the shadowbox openings any way you like. To add some interest and movement, let some of the stickers extend beyond the edges of the tray and put some on the frame. I tied a piece of burlap ribbon around the entire perimeter of the tray. No bows – I tied some knots in the ribbon instead. Knots seem kind of manly, right?
There were some small, bronze mosaic tiles in my craft supply stash, and I decided to use them around the outside of the frame for a finishing touch.
The great thing about this project is that it can be totally personalized to be perfect for your Dad or hubby. Don’t you think the kids would have fun making one of these for Dad?
Is Dad or hubby a big-time golf lover? (I know a lot of them are!) Here’s another gift-idea for Dad I shared last year!
Golf Ball Buddy On The Green “Fore” Dad
How does your family celebrate Father’s Day? Do you go out or do you cook a special meal at home for Dad?
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
