Depending on the glass size, this recipe makes about 6 servings and it couldn’t be easier! Pop your glasses in the freezer to get them nice and frosty while you’re preparing the drink. First, let’s make the blueberry swizzle sticks!

For each swizzle stick, you’ll need one wooden skewer and about 8 blueberries, depending on the height of your glass. I used wine glasses, to give you an idea of the length I made. Just as you would do if using skewers for grilling, soak the wooden sticks briefly in water and dry them. Now, they won’t crack or splinter when they’re cut! Determine how long the stick should be for the size of your glass; you want a couple of inches above the top of the drink. Cut the wooden skewer at an angle on the bottom. Thread the blueberries onto the pointed end of the skewer; once all the skewers you’re making are threaded with blueberries; put them in the freezer while you’re blending the drink. The blueberries freeze pretty quickly, (and thaw quickly as well) so make them right before you put the freeze together. You don’t want them frozen rock solid.

To make the pink vodka freeze, you’ll need:

  • One 12-ounce can of pink lemonade (do not thaw)
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries, hulled and cut in half
  • 1 cup of vodka (Vodka straight from the freezer is great!)
  • 10-15 ice cubes

Combine the lemonade, strawberries, vodka and ice cubes in a blender and blend well. Mixture will be thick and icy. Pour immediately into frosted glasses; garnish with a frozen blueberry swizzle stick and a straw, if you’d like.

That’s all there is to it! Fruity, sweet-tart and icy cold, this bright drink is so refreshing and so good! Yes, I know it’s really, really pink – but it’s so happy looking! Dear Mr. Smarty Pants, totally unfazed by my passion for pink after all these years, didn’t blink an eye at the color and even asked for a refill. My daughter (who is over 21) proclaimed it to be “absolutely delicious!” Knowing that these two serve up brutal honesty as quickly as the drink blends, I think pink vodka freeze is a hit!
