Savory Lemon-Dill Crackers

No one can resist these Savory Lemon-Dill Crackers! A perfect after-school or football watching snack. At littlemisscelebration.comCan you even believe it’s the last week of August? Summer is wonderful, but I have to be honest, I’m a fall girl! I love the fall & winter holidays and of course, we’re die-hard football fans at my house. There are a lot of family activities that will be kicking into high gear in the weeks ahead and snacks are needed! These savory lemon-dill crackers are super easy and let me warn you, super addictive! Whether you need a snack for the kids after school or something to munch on during the big game or on movie night, it’s impossible to stop eating these savory little morsels!

Years ago, I had the life-changing experience of working for a hospice program. While there, I was incredibly fortunate to meet and work with many amazing and generous volunteers. One of them, to whom I became very close, made us these crackers for a little treat and gave us the recipe. I’ve been hooked on these ever since!

This recipe is for a double-batch and of course, you can easily cut the recipe in half. Take my word on this, though, make the double batch! These little crackers will get gobbled up faster than you can yell “Touchdown!” Professional and college, we watch a lot of football in this house and I’m hoping to be yelling that word a lot! :)

Savory Lemon-Dill Crackers

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons dill seed
  • 2 teaspoons lemon-pepper seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 packages Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch Dressing (dry mix)
  • 2 packages oyster crackers (Sunshine or Archer Farms, from Target)
  • 1 large, brown paper grocery bag

Cut the large brown paper grocery bag open and lay it out flat on the kitchen table.

Place the crackers in a large mixing bowl. Combine vegetable oil, dill seed, lemon-pepper seasoning, salt and Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch Dressing mix in blender and blend until well combined, about 30 seconds. Pour blended oil mixture over crackers and stir well, making sure all crackers are well coated.

Spread the crackers out on the paper bag. The bag will absorb the excess oil. Let the crackers sit for about 60 minutes or until they are no longer oily.

Pile the crackers in a big bowl and enjoy! Store extra crackers in an airtight container – that is, if there ARE any leftovers!
