I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! It’s Black Friday and whether you’ll be out in the fray shopping or not, now’s the time to buckle down and get serious with our gift lists! According to the Farmers’ Almanac, nearly three-quarters of the country is expected to experience below normal temperatures this winter. Yes, that doesn’t necessarily thrill me, either! Cold weather means we’ll be grabbing gloves before we head out to face old man winter each day – and I’ve got a perfect holiday gift or stocking stuffer idea to keep all those gloves close at hand for the cold days to come!
We keep a big basket in our hall closet where we stash all the winter gear – scarves, hats, gloves and of course, ice scrapers. To be honest, I haven’t really organized that basket in a long, long time! A few months ago, I decided to dump it all out and take inventory. All kinds of gloves tumbled out – mittens, woolens, leathers, waterproof, in all sizes and colors. About 27 gloves in all, give or take, but guess what? I came up with ONE – yes, one – matched pair. That match, unfortunately, was not one of three pairs of not –inexpensive leather gloves. We can end the cycle of lost gloves with mitt-minders!
Remember when we were kids and our little winter coats had plastic clips to hold our mittens? Function meets fashion with mitt-minders! Created by two sisters right here in my home state of Maryland, mitt-minders are decorative glove clips for women, girls and boys that keep our gloves where they belong – with us! Attach mitt-minders to the sleeves of a winter coat, and to the glove and voila – no more lost gloves!
Is there a person on your holiday gift list that’s hard to buy for? If they wear gloves, they need mitt-minders! Moms, these are perfect for the kids! No more digging around in the school lost and found box or running to the store to purchase yet another pair of gloves. Gift exchange at the office, church, or with friends? Everyone will appreciate a gift that’s got a little fashion flair and solves the lost glove problem!
I’ve got a pretty pair of winter white mitt-minders to match one coat, and I’d better get a black set. I need to ask for a new pair of gloves for Christmas AND explain that I promise I won’t lose them ever again. 🙂
Has your family lost a lot of gloves over the years? We probably need to put our heads together and come up with a project using all those single gloves, don’t you think?
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
