Super Bowl (3 February, 2013) … (Photo credit: marsmet481)
Happy Sunday! It’s a really special Sunday, because today starts the seven day countdown to…the Super Bowl! Who’s excited? Yes? No? Maybe? So don’t care? Whatever you think about football and Super Bowl Sunday, chances are good we are going to talk about something this week that fits perfectly with what YOU feel about football! Plus…if all else fails, there’s always the commercials and halftime show to talk about!
First, a quick note I want to share with everyone. This has to be a direct result of my being new at blogging. I think I must have inadvertently approved a link that brought a TON of spam comments – I mean a TON. Thank goodness for Askismet, the best plug-in ever, which caught everything. Thank you, Askismet!!! Sadly, while going through the all of the spam and practically in tears, I may have mistakenly deleted some lovely comments from wonderful people, which totally breaks my heart. If ANYONE left me a comment and it’s gone, or I didn’t reply, please forgive me! I can’t tell you how much it means to me that each of you take the time to visit here, read my posts and I love comments so much! Well, we live and learn, right? You know I am happy that you are here! Ok, back to the Super Bowl!
Now of course, I have to tell you right from the start that my hometown team is in the Super Bowl this year, which totally elevates the celebration for me. It’s not all about the Ravens this week. hmm…you’ll allow me that next, weekend though, right? (smiles)
I am mostly thinking about all of the ladies here, though of course, the guys are always welcomed! There are probably some of the guys who are NOT superfans, either. In my lifelong experience with football, I have found that most women feel one of the following ways about the sport:
- They are superfans!
- They are newbie fans who are starting to love the game but are really lost and don’t understand a lot of the game.
- They are indifferent to it all – they’ll watch the Super Bowl for the commercials, halftime show and to chat with the girls.
- They totally detest the sport.
You know what? I have, at one point or another, been in every single one of these categories and can totally relate to each one. The reasons, though, just might surprise you!! I’ll be sharing some stories throughout the week and while I may not convert anyone to a superfan or even a newbie fan, perhaps someone will see the exciting game of football in a new light. Hey, it could happen!
So first up this week will be Little Miss Celebration’s Football 101 for the newbie fans, inspired by a friend of mine. We’ll cover the basics to help make watching the big game a little less confusing and get you on track with understanding the game. It will be a fun week as we move toward the biggest day of the NFL football season!
One thing – please – no trash talking, nothing bad this week, ok! There are more than enough other places for that. Whether it’s the NFL, college or a little guy’s first football team, everyone loves their OWN team, which is exactly how it should be!! Let’s just celebrate the game!
Who’s ready some football?
Have a wonderful Sunday and thank you for stopping by!

Well I’m looking forward to this series because I don’t understand football at all!
Danni, hopefully I can help a little bit!
